What do I submit for approval?

  1. A completed and signed application form.
     
  2. A copy of Certificate of Title and Plan of Subdivision.
     
  3. Three (3) sets of architectural plans -
    Prepare drawings of the proposed works. It is advisable to seek assistance of a registered draftsperson or architect who has the knowledge of the Victorian Building System. This will ensure finished plans are accurate, clear and complete. Drawings should include an accurate site plan, floor plans, elevations and structural details.
     
  4. Three (3) copies of Soil Investigation Report -
    For new dwellings or commercial works provide a soil investigation report (foundation data) that classifies the soil type (i.e. A, S, M, H, E or P) in order to design an acceptable footing system. For additions or alterations a soil investigation report may not be required at the direction of the building surveyor.
     
  5. Three (3) copies of Engineering Computations and Certificate of Compliance -
    The structural details and computations must be prepared by a registered structural engineer.
     
  6. Three (3) copies of Building Specifications
    Building Specifications describe materials and methods to be used in the construction.
     
  7. Three (3) copies of Five Star Energy Rating
    Effective 1st July 2005, 5 stars will be required plus rainwater tank or solar hot water system.

  8. A copy of Domestic Building Insurance (Warranty) is required for works greater than $12,000.
     
  9. An application fee is applicable (Please call us to determine cost for building permit fees).
