Hoarding / Scaffolding Permits
Any alterations or extensions to an existing building or any new works, that require any part of a public access way to be fenced off to allow for the building work to proceed, will require a hoarding permit.
As part of the application for a hoarding permit the following information and/or documentation must be provided:
- Application form to be completed.
- Application fee is to be paid.
- Prepare a detailed plan (scale 1:200) showing the area and dimensions of the footpath or road that is to be occupied.
- Indicate the height and type of hoarding to be erected. Preferred minimum height should be 1.8m. Sectional detail to be provided showing the methods of support to ensure lateral stability.
- A minimum clearance of 1.5m must be maintained adjacent to the perimeter of the hoarding, to allow for safe pedestrian movement.
- Provide a letter from the relevant building surveyor of the project, consenting to the proposed method of public protection.
In relation to the hoarding, no part of the supports will be permitted to encroach beyond the face of the hoarding.
